James & Rosie's Winter Wedding at Thornton Manor

I spent the whole of January itching to shoot James & Rosie's wedding at Thornton Manor. I had six long weeks without a wedding which I thought was going to be great, but in reality after a week or two, all I wanted to do was get back to work! And what a perfect wedding it was to kick start 2017!

I arrived at Thornton Manor early so I could scout out the grounds and get some shots of the hall. The sun was beaming and the sky was that perfect blue colour that we don't see as often as we would like, it was the perfect Winters day.

As the girls were sipping champagne in their suite, I headed out ready to catch James & his best man arriving. Rosie had won some serious wife points and surprised James that morning with a bright red, super stylish E-Type Jag. Now I'm not a huge car enthusiast but this car was undeniably cool!

It was one of those weddings that no matter which direction you looked in, everyone was having fun. As the evening came we headed out with sparklers to honour those who couldn't be there, then it was back inside to continue the celebrations, complete with one of the best first dances I've ever witnessed, a surprise Beyonce tribute from one of the bridal team & a grandma who owned the dancefloor!

2016 Blog Post

My Rather Large End of Year Blog

2016

When looking at the year that lay ahead last January, I suspected 2016 may be a slightly quieter year than 2015.

Oh how I was wrong!

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing thirty six of you lovely couples this year. I’ve shot a styled shoot in Paris & weddings in both Ibiza & Italy. I camped in the Welsh woods with 100+ talented wedding photographers where I learned *ahem* partied ALOT & I’ve watched, learned & listened to some of the best wedding photographers in the world.

It’s been marvellous.

Going through each and every wedding & engagement shoot I’ve shot this year has been exhausting but so so worth it to look at all your smiling faces and relive each day again.

I tried my hardest to narrow down on the amount of images I’d include in this blog, but it got to stage where I just couldn’t cut anymore out!

Enjoy :)

Zoe & Ben's stylish Winter Wedding at On The 7th in Manchester

Bride & Groom after their ceremony at On The 7th - Manchester Wedding Photography

Zoe & Ben chose to tie the knot at the lovely On The 7th in Media City, Manchester. On the 7th is the perfect cosy & stylish oasis on a cold December day, perfect for the intimate wedding Zoe & Ben had planned & complete with great views of the city!

Zoe's dress! What can I say, she looked incredible! Ben was grinning from ear to ear as Zoe walked in arm in arm with her Father.

As we headed through Media City later on in the day, for Zoe & Ben's portraits, we stumbled upon (you couldn't really miss it) a giant light display with some very apt wording & promised we'd head out again after dark to take advantage of it. After the speeches I headed downstairs to check the weather and it was chucking it down, I really wanted take advantage of the light display but really didn't want to drag Zoe through the wind and rain!

I kept checking and checking and eventually the rain slowed enough so we headed out, surrounding Zoe in a wall of umbrellas. It was so so worth it!

St Chad's Church in Farndon & at Harthill Weddings/The Success Factory near Chester - Cheshire Wedding Photography

Meg at Phil got married in the beautiful St Chad's Church in Farndon, just outside of Chester. St Chad's has got to be one of my favourite churches, it's got such a quaint, villagey charm to it, but admittedly, I am slightly biased as I grew up down the road...

We started off the morning at Meg's parents house, where we could look out the bedroom window and see the church in full view. It's definitely the shortest commute I've ever done to the church before! Meg arrived at the church in style, driven by her dad in an old english green kit car. After a careful manoeuvre out the car to avoid any oil stains on the dress, Meg headed down the little path and into the church to an eagerly awaiting Phil!

After the ceremony the newly wed's exited the church, showered in the most colourful confetti before jumping in the car and heading over to their reception at Harthill Weddings at The Success Factory. The lovely September sunshine came out just in time for canapés and drinks on the lawn, making sure the guests made the most of the gorgeous views of Cheshire. Whilst everyone was busy enjoying the sunshine, we headed across the fields to a beautiful little woodland area for some portraits in the forest, (my favourite of course!)

The rest of the day was so so relaxed, there was such a great atmosphere with everyone laughing and congratulating the pair all day. Meg & Phil were clearly in their elements, spending the day with a permanent grin across their faces!

Cayli & Darren's Ibiza Island Wedding at Elixir, Spain

Cayli & Darren walk hand in hand along Cala Codolar Beach

I've been very (im)patiently waiting to reveal this blog & today is finally the day!

What.A.Wedding.

Cayli & Darren don't do anything by halves, after 18 years together they wanted the Ibiza Wedding they'd always dreamed of, complete with sun, sea, 42 of their closest friends & family & not forgetting a performance from Lovely Laura!

I joined them over at the Grand Palladium Palace, Playa d'en Bossa where everyone was busy getting ready for the day ahead. Cayli had kept EVERYTHING a secret (even from her bridesmaids,) her beautiful dress, Sophia Webster shoes, the incredible Elixir... her guests had just been given a time to get into their glad-rags & meet outside the hotel!

When everyone was just about ready, I headed over to Elixir taking Darren & his two best men with me, slightly nervous my Spanish driving wasn't quite ready for passengers but we got their safe & sound and in plenty of time. The guests soon followed and finally got to see the secret venue!

Elixir is situated right at the top of a cliff, overlooking the picturesque little bay of Cala Codolar. It's the sort of view that literally takes your breath away & I can understand why Cayli & Darren wanted their guests to see it for the first time, just moments before the ceremony. It set the perfect scene for their perfect day.

After some rather emotional speeches everyone sat down for a meal (fit for the King of Spain.) It would of been absolutely criminal not to take the newlywed's down to the beach during the beautiful sunset for their photographs, so we nipped down in between courses!

Gill & Steve's Tea Party Wedding at The Cholmondeley Arms in Cheshire

Steve & Gill had their tea-party wedding at a the homely country pub, The Cholmondeley Arms in Cheshire. Gill started her day in the Headmasters House with her bridesmaids, slipping into a beautiful tea-length dress & Jimmy Choo's, then heading into Chester with her maids in tow in a vintage VW camper for the ceremony!

The ceremony was a very intimate affair, with just a few special guests watching the Steve & Gill tie the knot! The newly-weds then headed back to The Cholmondeley in the VW Camper to a marquee full of eagerly awaiting guests!

When arriving back at The Cholmondeley, we were greated by Dotty's Ice-Cream Van serving proper Cheshire ice-cream! The marquee was decked out in vintage china, bunting & jar's of flowers and surrounded by a string of fairy lights that wrapped round the trees.

Steve & Gill wanted a relaxed day celebrating with their friends and family. And that's exactly what they got!

Minori Wedding, Amalfi Coast - Destination Wedding Photography

I honestly don't know where to start.

I've spent the last week in Minori, one of the most charming & charismatic little town's I've ever been lucky enough to visit. Minori is nestled right in the heart of the beautiful Amalfi Coast, situated only a couple of miles from Amalfi itself. It's one of those places where time seems to stand still & it truly exceed's how beautiful people say it is.

Tamsin & Ben chose their venue based on what they both decided was the most important part of the day for them.. the food! Villa Maria is famous for home grown, home cooked Italian food, accompanied by their very own home made wine. They didn't disappoint - 7 courses of the most incredible feast, including antipasti, seafood, pasta & limoncello... it was a good job there was music and dancing between each course, just to work up to the next!

Villa Maria itself is situated right at the top of the hill, with the most picturesque view looking down on the whole of Minori. Bursting with that old rustic Italian charm, the outdoor area's are shaded with a canopy of lemon & grape vines, each room completed with a set of green shutters on the doors & the wonderful hosts, Vincenzo & Maria who could not of done more.

After Tamsin & Ben were declared Husband & Wife in Minori Municipio, the guests went to grab an ice-cream whilst we took to the streets to make the most of the most perfect backdrop for their portraits. After trying to plan a route for us to take the day I arrived, I decided it was impossible to choose one street over the next, every direction you looked in was a photo opportunity not to be missed!

To anyone who has a chance to visit Minori, you won't regret it <3

Lauren & Paul's North Wales, Tower Hill Barn Wedding

This was my second wedding in Tower Hill Barns in the space of a week and I couldn't wait to get back... The weather forecast was so awful in the lead up Lauren & Paul's day & I was so sad that we might not get a chance to go outside to make the most of the beautiful grounds, but our prayers were answered and the skies cleared just after the ceremony ended, giving us ample opportunity to make the most of fields & grass lined bridge that Tower Hill Barns has to offer!

Lauren & Paul's wedding had some of THE best speeches I've ever heard (and I've heard a lot...) The whole room was howling in laughter with a surprise performance from the bridesmaids & envelopes full of baby photographs from the "three adequate men" - Paul's words, not mine.

Also, please check out Lauren & Paul's cake. You won't regret it!

James & Rhian's Sunny Rustic Wedding at Tower Hill Barns in North Wales

towerhillbarns

I have been so so excited to get to Tower Hill Barns ever since James & Rhian booked with me. The wedding venue is in North Wales & only around 20 minutes away from where I grew up... I've heard nothing but good things about it since it's been re-opened! It wasn't to disappoint either, the wooden cladded bridge made for a super cool outdoor ceremony space & the windows in the  barn flooded the place with gorgeous sunlight and views of sheep filled fields!

I started the day over at James' parents house where James and his groomsmen were busy getting ready for the day ahead! The weather was perfect, so so sunny with blue skies all round. There's nothing nicer than starting the day off in the garden! As the boys where nearly good to go, I left them to it and headed over to Rhian and the girls.

After Rhian got into her dress, I drove over to Tower Hill Barns. The ceremony was all set to go ahead outside under the bridge and the flower beds were in full bloom, it was picture post card perfect. The guests were invited to sit down and Rhian made her entrance walking down the flower lined path to an eagerly awaiting James. I absolutely adored shooting their ceremony under the bridge, with sheep in the surrounding fields, blue skies & the wood & brick backdrop.. definitely the coolest licensed outdoor spot I've ever shot in!

I've got four more weddings booked in at Tower Hill and am so excited for each and every one of them. It's such a great venue with so many quirks and interesting features!
