Askham Hall Wedding, Lake District Wedding Photography

I'd been looking forward to Carly & David's wedding for ages as it's always fun to work a little further a field, plus the small fact that Askham Hall looked AMAZING! As I drove to the hall from my little B&B in Penrith, the views were incredible and I could see the hall surrounded by fields from miles away.

Everything about Askham Hall oozes charm & luxury, yet still manages to feel homely and relaxed. Across the grounds & through the gardens is the Bank Barn where Carly & David had their ceremony, wedding breakfast & evening reception. The barn is filled to the brim with rustic loveliness, and was dressed to perfection by the team at Askham & Heather at Flower Fashion.

Carly & David chose to have an all Ivory themed wedding which looked incredible with the lighting and textures of the barn. After the tables were cleared away it was time to turn the barn around one last time ready for an evening of dancing & celebrations with the happy couple!

Trafford Hall Wedding in Chester, Cheshire Wedding Photographer

Laura & her bridesmaids got ready at Mickle Trafford Manor, which is just down the road & very handy for their Trafford Hall Wedding! It's a gorgeous little hotel with beautifully quirky rooms and loads of space for wedding preparation antics.

It was a bit of a rainy start to the day & Laura was met with umbrellas waiting to escort her into the ceremony at St. Mary's Without the Walls in Handbridge, Chester. The church is absolutely beautiful, with such a long aisle it makes for the perfect grand entrance! After the ceremony Laura & Neil braved the rain for a confetti line as they exited the church to head over to Trafford Hall.

I first shot in Trafford Hall, Chester last May and fell in love with the place. Some venues just have a sort of charm about them and this is definitely one of those places. When Laura & Neil got in touch and told me their chosen venue, I could not wait to get back there again!

The driveway up to the Hall is lined from start to finish with tall tree's making it perfect to wander along for portraits! There's also some horses in the field next door which I managed to coax over to join in with some photographs! The marquee looked incredible, decked out in blue & yellow lanterns topped off with the happiest bunch of guests.

The sun finally came out after the speeches were finished and everyone made the most of the beautiful grounds. The back of the hall is the perfect sun trap lined with a string of lights giving it such a lovely atmosphere come dusk.

I also have to do a big shout out to the lovely Laura's amazing millinery skills too, she created her own veil as well as many of the guests hats and fascinators! Check her website by clicking here <3

Rachel & Robbie's Rustic Farm Wedding at Three Hills Barn, Torpenhow

Rachel & Robbie first got in touch just six days before their beautiful Cumbrian wedding, luckily enough I was free and couldn't resist a trip up North for the weekend! The moment I arrived at St. Bridget's church, Bridekirk, I instantly fell in love, it's one of the prettiest churches I've had the pleasure to shoot at and the location & scenery was so idyllic.

After the ceremony Rachel & Robbie walked back down the aisle as husband & wife, with the hugest grins on their faces! We then headed off to Three Hills Barn with a couple of photo stops on the way (couldn't resist the cows.)

Three Hills Barn is a seriously cool venue; tractors, horses, hay bales, a beautiful stone barn, big red gates, gardens, a stream, meadows... You literally couldn't ask for more!

Linsey & Gary's Intimate Sheldrakes Wedding on the Waterfront

I was lucky enough to have a few weeks off before Linsey & Gary's wedding, so their big day also marked the start of a very busy wedding season! I couldn't wait to get out and start shooting again, I'm one of few lucky lucky people who spend their time off itching to get started again!

And what a start to the season it was!

I met Linsey & the girls at Thornton Hall Hotel where I found them cool, calm and collected & waaay ahead schedule! After the girls finished getting ready I headed off to Sheldrakes to catch the arrival of their guests. Just before they were due to arrive a Vespa was headed my way, with Gary & his best man on the back, decked out in their pale blue suits!

After an intimate ceremony of 30 of their closest friends & family, we headed out onto the waterfront to take advantage of Sheldrake's amazing views and unique scenery. I don't need to tell you how happy the newly wed's were because of their permanent grins across their faces!

What.a.smile. <3

Destination Wedding Shoot in Mont Martre, Paris

mont martre, destination wedding

It was that time of year where wedding season was fast approaching. After a couple of quieter winter months, myself & photographer friend, Helen Smiddy decided to set off for Paris to work on a couple of styled shoots, to give us the boost we needed after winter!

Having attended an uhh-mazing photography festival the week before, the creative juices were flowing and it gave us the perfect opportunity to work on some new techniques, all whilst consuming our body weight in coffee & cheese. Bliss <3

Mont Marte was a very obvious choice of location for our parisian wedding shoot. The cobbled streets, artists painting in the square and french cafe's made for the perfect backdrop.

Huge thank-you to Ophelie & Djamal for braving the cold and just being perfect!

Nia & Joe's Pre-Wedding Shoot in Delamere Forest

Delamere Forest Pre-Wedding Shoot, Chester

Being a chester wedding photographer, one of the best things is having Delamere Forest right there on your doorstep! A lot of my couples comment that they love my woodland, outdoorsy images, which I love! I'm always more than happy to go through a stroll through the forest (wellies needed or not!)

Delamere Forest is the perfect place for an Pre-Shoot. Nia & Joe are getting married at Tower Hill Barns in March (can't wait!) and decided they wanted a pre-shoot to get used to being in front of the camera. You definitely can't tell from the photographs, but they were a bit nervous about it all.. it was so so lovely to get a message from Nia after the shoot, telling me how they both felt so much more relaxed about it all!

I spent last week in the BEAUTIFUL Santa Maria, Italy at The Secret Retreat workshop. I can't begin to describe how much I learned & what a completely invaluable experience it was for me. Ever since touching down in Italy my mind has been spinning with inspiration & ideas! Sooo.. Keep your eyes peeled for some changed to my website & branding over the next few months!

We were well and truly spoilt whilst on our little retreat, shooting at the Palazzo Belmonte & hanging out with the prince ;) It was every wedding photographers dream. Santa Maria is made up of quaint cobbled streets & has a nostalgic 'frozen-in-time' atmosphere, the ideal place to clear your head and start planning for the future

A huuuuge thank-you to the beautiful Bev & Paul for being so perfect <3

Alice & Glenn's Woodland Tipi Wedding at Stanley Villa Farm, Lancashire

Stanley Villa Farm Wedding, Lancashire Wedding Photography

Alice & Glenn chose to be married at the amazing Stanley Villa Farm, near Preston. As I arrived at the farm I was so excited! There was a beautiful lake, stunning scenery & the 'glamping' pods looked super cool dotted amongst the fields... But it just kept getting better!

Round the corner there was a huge tipi set up ready for the wedding reception, complete with a fire pit & fairy lights. Behind the tipi was a small path leading right into the thick of the forest to a small clearing surrounded by trees, the lovely Amy from Sweetpea & Ivy had been busy setting up hay bails, arches & embroidered throws ready for Alice & Glenn's ceremony in the woods!

It really was one of the most beautiful services I've ever seen & it was filled with the touching moments & traditions of a Hand-fasting ceremony. After Alice & Glenn had exchanged their vows the rings were passed round their guests for each person to bless the couple & their family, three of the couples closest friends were then invited to wrap ribbons round Alice & Glenn's hands, each ribbon representing a part of their marriage & their new bonds as husband and wife.

The rest of the day was spent celebrating till the sun went down (and much, much later,) filled to the brim with rustic wedding, glamping loveliness!

Sarah & Daniel's Pretty Vintage Wedding at Trafford Hall, Chester

SARAH & DANIEL

29.08.15

Trafford Hall Wedding, Cheshire/Chester Wedding Photography

Sarah & Daniel got married at the beautiful Trafford Hall, just on the outskirts of Chester, Cheshire. The hall is a stylish Georgian mansion surrounded by stunning scenery & a quaint sunken garden & (according to good sources) is in high demand - so check it out, quick!

Sarah looked UH-mazing with a chic up-do & vintage lipstick, a proper English Rose. The ceremony room had also been decked out by the lovely Amy at Sweetpea & Ivy and come 3pm Daniel was there awaiting his beautiful bride with their guests.

After a touching ceremony Sarah & Daniel walked out of the French doors under a shower of confetti, hand in hand, as husband & wife. It was then time for hugs, kisses & champagne followed by lots of photographs and enough sandwiches, scones & tea to feed a small army.

When everyone had had their fill it was back out in the gardens to continue the celebrations in front of the gorgeous ivy-clad walls.. It was such a beautiful evening and the sun was set low in the sky giving off a golden light, so I whisked Sarah & Daniel off again for 10 minutes to make the most of it.

Half way through some shots we were joined by a horse from one of the near by fields, it would of been rude not to feature him in some of their photos!
