Chester Wedding Photography
By a Born & Raised Chester Wedding Photographer :)
Having grown up in the little city of Chester, there's nothing I love more than heading back to my roots and photographing a proper Chester wedding! Here are some of the highlights from my very favourite Chester weddings & venues, in the hopes it may give you some ideas of your own!
Hope you enjoy <3
Phil & Nicola
I'd been dying to shoot a wedding at Nunsmere Hall in Cheshire and was over the moon when Nicola & Phil booked me for their day there!
We've had such a rainy few weeks and I had all my fingers crossed that the sun would make an appearance for Phil & Nic as they had their hearts set on an outdoor wedding ceremony. I turned up at Nunsmere nice and early to have a scout round for locations before I met Nicola and the bridesmaids getting ready, the sun was out and there were blue skies all round, an absolute miracle!
After Nicola was wedding-ready & in her dress, I headed outside to photograph the ceremony area before the guests were seated. Just as I got outside, a huge black cloud blew over and it started chucking it down! I quickly dumped my camera inside and ran out to help the staff gather up the chair covers & roll up the carpet so it didn't get ruined. As quickly as the rain started, it stopped & the sun & blue skies were back once again! We all stood there in disbelief not knowing whether to carry on moving everything inside or start putting it back out. The wedding co-ordinator called Nic and she bravely said they'd go ahead with the outdoor ceremony. With 5 minutes to go we all raced around setting up again and making it perfect for the Bride & Groom.
Nicola definitely made the right call. The sun carried on shining and there wasn't a drop of rain in sight!
Delia & Sean
I can't express how much fun Delia & Sean's big day was.
Firstly, a huge shout out to Delia, who climbed over a wooden fence in her dress & heels to get into the fields surrounding the hall for their photographs. Never an easy task but you did it in style & it was totally worth it!
Secondly, Delia & Sean had completely decked out the lawn with hoola hoops, space hoppers, limbo, hay bales & a seriously cool VW Camper photobooth! Oh and jester hats all round.. just because. And to top it all off, as everyone was having such a good time outside, Delia & Sean decided to do their first dance out there too, surrounded by their loved ones all singing along to Oasis, it was such a perfect moment.
Laura & her bridesmaids got ready at Mickle Trafford Manor, which is just down the road & very handy for their Trafford Hall Wedding! It's a gorgeous little hotel with beautifully quirky rooms and loads of space for a wedding preparation antics.
I first shot in Trafford Hall, Chester last May and fell in love with the place. Some venues just have a sort of charm about them and this is definitely one of those places. When Laura & Neil got in touch and told me their chosen venue, I could not wait to get back there again. The marquee looked incredible, decked out in blue & yellow lanterns topped off with the happiest bunch of guests!
I also have to do a big shout out to the lovely Laura's amazing millinery skills too, she created her own veil as well as many of the guests hats and fascinators! Check her website by clicking here <3

I couldn't wait to shoot Kelly & Tim's Chester city centre wedding - you couldn't get much more of a true 'Chester Wedding' than this and it is my hometown after all! Their ceremony was held at Chester Town Hall, which is by far one of the most beautiful town halls I've had the pleasure of photographing. Kelly looked stunning in her beautifully embellished dress, completed with her Tiffany Blue clad bridesmaids and a smile from ear to ear!
After the ceremony it was time for everyone to head over to the Cathedral for a champagne reception, whilst Kelly & Tim's guests made their way across, we piled into the chic VW camper and headed down to the river to get some beautiful photographs of the newly weds. Chester is the perfect little city for wedding photography, there are so many locations to choose from and we were determined to catch as many of them as possible!
We took advantage of the bridge & bandstand down by the river (whilst also briefly joining in with a peaceful protest,) then headed back to the Cathedral to join the celebrations! After the canapés had been eaten & the champagne had been drunk, Kelly & Tim walked through the cobbled streets to The Grosvenor Hotel, where their guests & on looking shoppers greeted them with applause!
The rest of their day was filled with huuge celebrations, ahh-mazing food & the best company you could ask for!
I first met Amy & Gavin back in 2014 when Amy was bridesmaid for one of my lovely couples, Jess & Rob! It was great knowing I would see everyone again and when Amy & Gavin filled me in on all their plans, I couldn't wait to shoot their beautiful Ness Gardens wedding!
When the day came, the July rain held off and the sun made a rare appearance - just in time for the "I do's!" After not one, but two confetti throwings (why the hell not?!) Amy & Gavin were whisked away for a spin in their gorgeous little VW camper.
Ness Garden's is the type of place that whatever direction you're looking in, there's a picture perfect - bride & groom worthy - location! We really were spoilt for choice in this little oasis <3
